Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The District 5 Boys’ Basketball Tournament wrapped up Monday night, and the All-District team was announced, along with individual awards given for the Senior Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year.  Results from the tournament can be found here: Day 1   Day 2   Day 3

The All-District Team:

Barnes County North Bison – Senior Max Fehr

Carrington Cardinals – Junior Lucas Hendrickson

Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier Rebels – Seniors Alex Huber and Paxton Mathern

Ellendale Cardinals – Junior Scott Wagner and sophomore Riley Thorpe

Griggs-Midkota Titans – Senior Tanner Haugen

LaMoure-Litchville-Marion Loboes – Junior Corban Potts

Oakes Tornadoes – Seniors Ashton Biesterfeld, Garret Meehl, and Steele Hansen

 

Huber from EKM was named the Senior Athlete of the Year, and Brian Vance of Ellendale was named Coach of the Year for District 5.  The Oakes Tornadoes won the District Championship, while the LLM Loboes finished second.  Ellendale and EKM also qualified for the Region 3 Tournament, set to start Monday, March 8th at the Jamestown Civic Center.  All of those games can be heard on Thunder Country 98.3 fm.
