JAMESTOWN, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jimmies men’s volleyball team swept Ottawa on Tuesday night behind big performances from Samuel Jackman and Derek Owens to improve to 9-2 and one win away from the GPAC regular season title.
Jackman and Owens both finished with double-digit kills, and Jackman led the way with 12. Owens smashed home 10, and the Jimmies as a team hit .446. Setter Derek Correa collected 34 assists and tied a team-high of seven digs with Caylor Cox.
Huntington Beach freshman Tanner Woods while hitting .400 on the evening. Correa, Jackman, and Owens all finished with hitting percentages above .550.
Jamestown is now 4-0 in the conference, and still have three more conference games remaining including tomorrow night against Ottawa at 7 pm. The #6 Jimmies and have won three consecutive matches.
UJ only has three home games remaining, including tomorrow night, in the regular season. The Jimmies will play six straight road matches in six days from March 8-13.
