Kenneth Eugene Lang was born June 3rd, 1946 in Valley City ND to Edmund and Charlotte Lang. He attended Tower City (ND) High School and was involved with 4H, often showing livestock with his brother Richard.
He married DeAnna Baasch May 23, 1968 in Seattle WA and moved back to Tower City in 1971. In 1977, they established their family farm north of Tower City. Kenny was involved in numerous boards and committees throughout the years where he was never afraid to share his opinions.
While others had hobbies like golf or fishing, Kenny’s hobby was working. He was not happy unless he was doing something. If he wasn’t in the field, he was working on a project on the farm or at one of his children’s homes. Kenny “retired” in the fall of 2003 but remained active with his hobby. He spent many hours in the field after his retirement because it is what he loved. If he wasn’t in a tractor or combine, he was on a mower. If not on a mower, he was constructing some sort of building or doing a project he really did not need to do.
Kenny had a great love for his grandchildren. His grandchildren are really what finally got his farmer heart to grow soft. There is nothing he would not have done for his grandchildren and he cherished the time in the summer they would spend with DeAnna and him at their farm. His grandchildren got him to do things others could not, like taking time away from his mowing to go to the lake, on a fishing trip or to a Twins game. He was an idol and hero to them and he will be missed dearly.
Kenny was preceded in death by his brother, Richard and brother-in-law, Peter Richman. He is survived by his wife, DeAnn; daughters, Lisa (Brett) Weller and Shannon Lang; son, Charles (Rachelle); grandchildren, Perrin and Amelia Weller and Gunnar and Lauryn Lang; sisters, Janet (Marlyn) Halland, Karen Richman, Diane (Richard) Kohler, Frances (Gerald) Hagen, Barbara (Pat) Lyons, and many nieces and nephews.
