JAMESTOWN, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School boy’s basketball team mounted a late comeback to force overtime before defeating Bismarck Century 74-67.

The Blue Jays got off to a quick 11-4 start before trailing 35-26 at the half. In the second half, senior Carson Lamp took over the game, scoring 24 of his 28 total points.

Lamp pushed Jamestown into the lead briefly before overtime on a fadeaway three-pointer that also included a foul. The game was tied at 61 after time expired in the second half.

Keith Levin had a double-double, totaling 12 points in big moments for Jamestown. The Jays are now 12-3 on the year and take on Minot, the top team in the WDA at 14-1.

In girl’s action on Tuesday night, Jamestown fell to #1 Bismarck Century 79-52. The Blue Jays had been on an impressive six-game winning streak before meeting the Patriots, who are still yet to lose this season (14-0).

Jamestown was led in scoring by Annie Nabwe who had 16. Senior Grace Hegerle also chipped in with 13. The Blue Jays girls team is now 11-5 on the year, still sitting in fourth place in the WDA standings. They travel to Minot on Friday with tipoff scheduled for 7:30.
