FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Hi-Liner wrestlers picked up two more wins last night. Valley City was in Fargo for a triangular with Fargo South and Wahpeton. The Hi-Liners downed the Bruins 75-6 and were 69-12 winners over the Huskies.
In the South match, the Hi-Liners picked up forfeit wins at 106, 170 and 182. Koye Grebel, Tucker Johnson, Logan Novara, Ethan Miller, Isaiah Schuldheisz, Ezra Hanse, Johnathan Redfearn Carson McGough and Devyn Thornton all picked up pins.
Evan Mielke won his match 3-0 over Ahmed Hussaini at 152. South’s lone win came at 145 when Jacob Thomas pinned Espen Kunze.
Redfearn’s pin at 195 came just seven seconds into the match.
In the match against Wahpeton, Koltyn Grebel got a win by forfeit at 106. Then Koye, Tucker, Logan, Ethan, Isaiah, and Espen all picked up pins to make it 42-0 heading into 152.
Evan Mielke picked up a 10-7 decision over Kaleb Mostoller to make it 45-0 Valley City. Ezra Hanse and Broden Muske picked up pin s at 160 and 170 respectively to make it 57-0 Hi-Liners.
Tanner Thiel got a pin at 182 over Kael Grebel to score first for Wahpeton. Grebel was leading the match 5-3 at the time of the pin. Jonah Schuldheisz and Carson McGough got pins at 195 and 220 respectively to make it 69-6. Josh Krump who is #1 in the EDC at 285 pinned Devyn Thornton to make the final 69-12.
The Hi-Liners are now 16-1 on the season and have won eight duals in a row. This weekend the wll be up in Grand Forks for a Triangular with Central and Thief River Falls.
