ABERDEEN, S.D. (NewsDakota.com) – This year Dacotah Bank introduced a new scholarship program. In the past Dacotah Bank has partnered with the South Dakota Bankers Association to provide scholarships for high school seniors. A change in the SDBA program focusing SDBA supported scholarships toward secondary education students focusing their career on financial services lead to the creation of this new Dacotah Bank Scholarship Program. Dacotah Bank has been happy to help youth in the communities they serve move on to secondary schools and wanted this support to continue. In order to be eligible, high school seniors must be attending a higher education institute in South Dakota, North Dakota or Minnesota, and have an account with Dacotah Bank.
Each Dacotah Bank market has been allotted a $1,000 scholarship to award a student that fits eligibility requirements and completes the application in its entirety. Dacotah Bank will choose the two highest scoring applications out of the submission pool to receive a $2,000 scholarship. These two winners are not eligible for the $1,000 location scholarship, and another application from that location will be chosen.
Robert Fouberg, Dacotah Bank president and CEO stated, “Dacotah Bank and the communities in which we live, and work depend on a quality workforce. Inasmuch as post-secondary education represents a huge financial commitment, we feel it is important to invest in the next generation.”
