BISMARCK, N.D. (Prairie Public Radio) – The House rejected a bill that would have prohibited a business from refusing to accept cash as a form of payment.
The bill came out of the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee with an 11 to 2 “do-not-pass” recommendation.
Grand Forks Representative Emily O’Brien.
O’Brien told the House the Committee was unaware of any business that would not accept cash.
The bill failed on a 70 to 21 vote.
