JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A plan put together by North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread is set to come before the legislature this week.
The bill, referred to as the Godfread Plan, has been proposed to establish the Pioneer Fund. This fund will be important for the next steps of the Buffalo City Park. The plan is being sponsored by Representative Mike Nathe in the House and Senator Rich Wardner in the Senate.
Jamestown/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) Executive Director Connie Ova says they expect a news conference Wednesday regarding the bill.
Godfread’s plan would establish a North Dakota Investment Advisory Committee (IAC) to review and recommend viable investment opportunities within the state. Currently the $7 billion dollar Legacy Fund is invested almost entirely outside the state and outside the country.
