LITCHVILLE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Another ATM machine was stolen in the area, this one was taken from the C-Store in Litchville on Monday, January 4th about 4:30am.
Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin said the thieves smashed the front door of the business and pulled the ATM machine out with their vehicle. He said the crime was captured on the store’s video camera system. The incident remains under investigation with the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office.
Nearly a month ago, The City View Convenience Store in LaMoure County was burglarized in the early morning hours of December 6th. That crime remains under investigation. So far, no suspects have been arrested in either of these incidents.
Shortly after the City View Convenience Store burglary, on December 6th, there was an attempted ATM theft at a bank in Arthur, North Dakota.
It’s not the first time thieves executed a smash and grab of an ATM Machine. Back in October of 2017, an ATM Machine was stolen from a Pillsbury, ND business. A year later, a Fargo woman was arrested and charged with that burglary.
