JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A fund started by a man at the Medicine Shoppe in Jamestown has made a major difference for some over the past two years.
Staff Pharmacist Matt Perkins says a man named Jason wanted to give back to the community and help some of those who couldn’t afford their medications.
Perkins says shortly after Jason’s donation, the fund was already put to use.
Jason also continues to make donations to the fund, periodically checking on the amount left and making sure there’s always something there for the Medicine Shoppe to use.
Since starting the fund, Perkins estimates that Jason has added anywhere from $300 to $400 over the last two years. He added that Jason’s generosity has inspired him and his staff to continue the fund into 2021.
Perkins says anyone visiting the Medicine Shoppe are encouraged to donate any spare change to the fund. He says they’re making it public this year to hopefully keep the fund going and continue paying it forward.
Perkins says they will continue to use the fund at their discretion for those who need it most as long as funds are available.
