CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Carrington Public School system is using COVID-19 grant funding to improve technology across the district.

Superintendent Kris Kuehn reports thy received more than $300,000 in grant funds that need to be allocated by the end of the year.

Kuehn says other purchases the board agreed to included 40 MacBook’s for faculty to use in case they need to distance teach and plan to add a camera to the west gym that will help them stream future activities.

He added that some funds will go towards a payment with Apple to upgrade the districts computers.

The funding will also be used to install touchless water fountains and toilets. Kuehn says they’ll also stipend some money for teachers putting in extra hours and substitutes.

In other Carrington School Board news, Kuehn says they made the move to keep requiring masks inside the schools through January 14th, 2021.
