JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Tourism will be focused more on promoting the trails in the future.

During the final Jamestown Tourism Board Meeting, Executive Director Searle Swedlund informed the board that they had allocated funds for new trail guides, which he hopes brings more information on the trails to the public.

Swedlund says in feedback they’ve received, awareness has often been brought up.

The board also heard the results of a survey Jamestown Tourism issued this summer to “get a glimpse into the visitors experience in Jamestown.”

Swedlund says it’s important to note that the 1,465 reponses was a small sample size, but it was a solid representation of those who have visited the Frontier Village.

Swedlund says this brings questions to the market and awareness aspect of visiting Jamestown. He says they’ll need to dig further into the survey, but says it’s a step to improving the visitor experience.

Other questions included “what would make for a longer stay at the Frontier Village?” Swedlund stated that food was a top comment.

Swedlund says these surveys could lead to future projects and things that could set the Frontier Village apart from others across North Dakota.
