FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The fifth rated Jamestown Blue Jays needed five sets to defeat the Mustangs of West Fargo Sheyenne Thursday night in the State Class A Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals at the FargoDome, winning 3-2 (25-16, 14-25, 25-14, 19-25, 15-8). The Jays improve to 17-5 overall, WFS drops to 18-9 overall.

Seniors Ella Roaldson and Grace Hegerle led the Blue Jays in kills, 19 and 16 respectively. Junior Katie Trumbauer had 31 assists and four of the 11 total aces for Jamestown. Senior Rachel Schiele had 22 digs, Hegerle 15 digs. The Mustangs were led by Senior Jadyn Feist with 22 digs, 18 kills, three blocks and two aces.

The Jays will take on the EDC champs West Fargo in the state semifinals Friday night at 7pm, James 107 FM and newsdakota.com will have the coverage starting about 6:45pm.
