Memorial Service for Sheila Coleman, 43, of Oakes, ND, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 18th, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, Oakes, with Reverend Justin Fenger officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. also at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Oakes View Cemetery near Oakes.
Sheila died August 11, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, SD.
Sheila Rae was born April 7, 1969 to R. Stanley and Sharon (Kraft) Morse in Oakes, ND. She was baptized at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, rural LaMoure. Sheila attended LaMoure Public School, graduating with the class of 1987. Sheila attended Valley City State University, and graduated in 1992 with a major in Elementary Education. She had recently received her Masters in Education from Graceland University in Iowa. Sheila had a passion for teaching, and loved all of her students. At the time of her death, she was a 1st grade teacher at LaMoure Public School.
Sheila was united in marriage to Kevin Coleman on December 28, 1991 and together they were blessed with five children, Josten, Brady, Caden, Cassidy, and step-daughter, Chelsa.
She loved all sports, and during her high school years she played basketball and was a boys’ basketball cheerleader. She also enjoyed supporting their three sons in wrestling and was looking forward to attending their daughter’s upcoming sporting activities and grandson’s hockey games.
Sheila loved life, and enjoyed the lakes, riding motorcycle, and bowling. But what she enjoyed most; was spending time with her family and their family vacations.
Grateful for having Sheila in their lives are her husband, Kevin; children, Josten, Brady, Caden, and Cassidy; her step-daughter, Chelsa; grandson, Kyan; parents, R. Stanley and Sharon Morse; two sisters, Karla (Jody) Slusher and Paula Morse; and mother-in-law, Martha (Dale) Asche. Sheila is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sheila was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andrew and Lena Kraft, and Ralph E. and Lucille Morse; aunts, Julie Jacobson, Lyla Kraft, and Mic Morse; father-in-law, Kenneth Coleman; uncles, Gerald Coleman and Bob Hoffman; and Grandma Alice Hoffman.
