JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – American Red Cross volunteers are some of the first to provide assistance when an individual or family is struck by a natural disaster.
Through volunteers, donors, and partners, American Red Cross has helped thousands across the country with care, shelter, and hope. Jamestown volunteer Jeff Wolsky has been with the Red Cross for nearly 20 years.
Wolsky heads the volunteers in the Jamestown area. He says they have nine volunteers at this time.
Wolsky says since the beginning of July this year, they’ve responded to more than 100 fires in the area. On a national scale, he says volunteers are helping with multiple disasters.
At this time, Wolsky says there is a desperate need for volunteers. He says you can volunteer nationally or locally.
