JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – With COVID-19 numbers declining in Jamestown and Stutsman County, Mayor Dwaine Heinrich is encouraging the public to continue doing what they can to stop the spread of the virus.

While cases in North Dakota have reached an all-time high, numbers have continued to decline in Stutsman County according to the North Dakota Department of Health. After reaching a peak of 159 total active COVID-19 cases on September 12th, the county is now down to just 45 active cases. Stutsman County has seen a total of 548 cases since the pandemic began.

Mayor Heinrich says it’s a bit of good news to take away from the spike the county saw.

In other city news, approved to extend the temporary moratorium pertaining to possession of alcohol on public right-of-way through January 5th, 2021. Councilmember Dave Steele added to that resolution.

The resolution was unanimously approved. The council also approved awarding the bid for one new single axle truck and one new roll off truck.

Councilmember Brian Kamlitz was not present at the meeting.
