Did you know that farmers and ranchers receive only 14.6 cents of every dollar that consumers spend on food at home and away from home?
According to USDA, off-farm costs, including marketing, processing, wholesaling, distribution and retailing, account for more than 80 cents of every food dollar spent in the United States.
To raise awareness locally, and more specifically on beef prices, the Stutsman County Farmers Union will be holding a drive-up taco lunch and charge the “cost of the farmers share” of the profits.
The free-will donation taco bag lunch will be served October 1st from 11 AM to 1 PM at the North Dakota Farmers Union offices. Come learn more about why they are sponsoring this event and what you can do to help promote fair markets shares for farmers
