VALLEY CITY, N.D. (vcsuvikings) – The Valley City State University athletic department announced today that its Oct. 3 football game against Mayville State has been postponed.
VCSU athletic director Jill DeVries said the schools have tentatively rescheduled the game for Nov. 21. That date is subject to change, depending on circumstances. The two schools are currently exploring other potential dates for playing the game.
The decision to postpone Saturday’s game was made due to safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayville State’s Sept. 26 football game was also postponed. This is the first postponement of the season for VCSU football.
This weekend’s game was supposed to be VCSU’s homecoming football game. All other Homecoming Week festivities on campus are still currently scheduled to go on as planned.
