FESSENDEN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a semi that failed to stop near Fessenden Saturday afternoon.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that a Peterbilt Truck driven by Dale Mason, 67, of Fessenden was coming from a grain elevator onto State Highway 15 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Oak Avenue.
The semi struck a motorcycle trike traveling eastbound in a right-angle to sideswipe collision. The motorcycle, driver, and passenger came to rest east of the intersection. The driver suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Details on the passenger haven’t been released.
Mason did not suffer any injuries. The crash remains under investigation. The NDHP was assisted by the Wells County Sheriff’s Office, Fessenden Ambulance Service, and Fessenden Fire Department.
