JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Operating as a non-profit, the James River Humane Society continues to rely on volunteers and donations to operate.

Board Member Jay Nitschke says they continue to do adoptions through appointment only as they work through the COVID-19 pandemic. She says the best way for people to support the community shelter is to adopt or make a donation.

Jay says dealerships in Jamestown will begin a competition to raise needed donations for the Humane Society.

The competition will run begin in October and run through the month.

She added that any and all donations are welcomed at this time because they are unable to host fundraisers as much as they used to.

Nitschke says they also offer single, couple, and family memberships too for the shelter.
