JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The winter months are fast approaching.
To help those who may need assistance with winter clothing, the Jamestown Salvation Army and Ave Maria Village are collecting donations of new or gently used snowsuits, gloves, caps, mittens, scarves and boots in all sizes.
Major Judy Lowder says Ave Maria Village has been doing their collections for the Salvation Army for many years.
Lowder says they’ll accept all winter clothing donations, but they’re really hoping for more kids items.
Major Lowder added that there are no requirements for those who need assistance through the Salvation Army.
There will be a large winter clothing distribution event set for November 6th from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Donations can be taken to the Jamestown Salvation Army Offices at 320 1st Avenue North. You can also make monetary donations that will be used to purchase necessary items.
Lowder also reminds the public that the Salvation Army Thrift Store is closed and there are no intentions to bring it back. She says those needing clothing can attend their “Freebie Fridays” at their office.
For more information, call the Salvation Army at 701-252-0290 or 701-269-3930.
