JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) started the Farmers to Families Food Box program to support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As of August 28th, more than 75 million food boxes have been distributed.
“The delivery of 75 Million food boxes has helped an incredible number of Americans in need,” said Secretary Perdue. “I couldn’t be prouder of the great job done by the food box program staff and the many farmers, distributors and non-profits that helped to get this program off the ground for the American people.”
Jared Slinde, Communications Manager for the Great Plains Food Bank, says the program will continue feeding a lot of people at a crucial time.
Slinde adds there is no prerequisites to receive food from the F2F program.
There are multiple distributions set for the program with the first this month being held Tuesday, September 8th in the Jamestown Civic Center parking lot from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
