JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Department of Health reported Thursday that there were 29 more active cases of COVID-19 in Stutsman County, bringing the total active cases to 101.
Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler reported during a recent briefing that the alarming rise in cases is being attributed to several reasons.
Iszler stated that with this rise, it was important for the general public to know the difference between isolating and quarantining.
Iszler says those who quarantine are asked to do so for 14 days and are considered “close contact.” If they’re asked to isolate, it’s due to showing symptoms of the coronavirus.
She added that taking the right steps now would be vital to ensuring things could stay open in the future.
Iszler added they’ll continue weekly COVID-19 testing events on Fridays at the Jamestown Civic Center from 10 AM to 12 PM. Visit testreg.nd.gov to get registered.
In the clinics, Tonya Busch, a nurse practitioner at Essentia Health in Jamestown, says they’re working on testing patients with concerns of COVID without them having to come in the building.
Busch says they are also doing virtual visits with providers, which she says have increased since the pandemic began. She says they still continue to encourage a call before you go to the clinic approach.
