JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department has nearly filled all open spots on their roster.

Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger reports that they have all but one open spot in the department.

Chief Edinger added that there have been several promotions within the department and are looking to fill the Sgt. position, Drug Task Force position, and School Resource Officer position.

In COVID-19 related issues, Chief Edinger says they are attempting to make up time on lost training.

Chief Edinger says some officers also remain in field training.

In other police news, Chief Edinger says they are currently observing snow removal protocols for this winter and further ahead.

As far as public support, Chief Edinger says there’s been an overwhelming amount of support from the community and beyond. He says this is greatly appreciated as they continue to serve Jamestown.

Edinger says support and encouragement their seeing goes far for the department as far as recruitment and keeping staff.
