FARGO, N.D. (Newsdakota.com) – There will be college football played at the FargoDome this fall!
At least for one Saturday.
North Dakota State University announced Central Arkansas will come to Fargo October 3 at 2:30 on its athletics website.
The idea of Bison football this fall seemed dead last week. Missouri Conference play was postponed until the spring a few weeks ago. NDSU searched for opponents over the last few weeks to fill out some version of a regular season but didn’t find much luck before Central Arkansas.
As of Monday afternoon, attendance guidelines haven’t been set, but “in collaboration with the Fargodome, City of Fargo and Fargo Cass Public Health, NDSU will assist in establishing procedures to provide a safe environment for the game,” according to NDSU’s athletics page.
Not a shock but outside the FargoDome on the first Saturday of October will feel odd as well.
“There will be no tailgating, and fans will be required to wear a mask upon entering the building,” according to the NDSU’s athletics page.
It may be a one-off on the fall season, but for Bison quarterback Trey Lance it could be a chance to shine for the NFL.
“Top QB prospect Trey Lance will have a showcase game this fall,” said Yahoo! Sports reporter Pete Thamel in a tweet.
October 3 will be the first time NDSU matches up with Central Arkansas and the first meeting between the two schools over the next few years. This year’s game will be broadcast on KDDR 1220am & 95.9fm.
