HILLSBORO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Destiny Vadnie of Hillsboro recently competed in the American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) World Championship show in Oklahoma City.

“This is the pinnacle event for youth competitors around the world,” the competition website states. “In most years, youth exhibitors must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to secure a spot in each of the classes, representing English, western and halter disciplines. The other road to qualifying is for competitors to participate and compete through their state or provincial affiliate.”

The competition was held on July 29th and Destiny showed her home-raised horse IMA SPARK A SMOAK in the “Aged Mare” class. She received 6th place in the Level 3 division and was selected as Bronze Champion in both the level 1 and level 2 divisions.

Destiny graduated from HCV in May 2020 and will be furthering her education at NDSCS in Wahpeton.
