JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Jamestown High School) – As health officials continue to take steps to prevent the introduction and spread of COVID-19, schools play an essential role in this effort.  Jamestown Public Schools believes that athletics and co-curricular activities are essential for the physical, mental, and social well-being of our students.

The WDA Conference Athletic Administration, together with public health officials, have made the difficult decision only to allow essential staff and limit attendance at all conference events.  All attendees must have a voucher to attend.  Attendees will also then need to purchase appropriate admission ticket upon presenting voucher.  The capacity restrictions of the facility will determine the number of vouchers.  Vouchers will be disseminated through the rostered students for each activity. Season passes will no longer be sold at this time nor will they be accepted at the ticket gates.  In order to receive a refund for previously purchased passes please return pass and complete a refund request form at JPS central office and payment will be mailed out.

For the following events: cross country, tennis, golf, and middle school activities JPS is asking that no more than 2 individuals attend per student.  There may also be contests where spectators will not be allowed due to facility capacity.

Masks may be required at some WDA athletic facilities; however, they are expected at Jamestown Public School indoor facilities.  Please respect each school’s request.  When possible, games will be livestreamed throughout the conference. Please check local school district websites for more information along with the conference website:  www.wdasports.org

We understand how disappointing this is for our families and fans; however, the schools of the WDA feel that this decision is in the best interest of public health, including that of coaches, administrators, fans, and most of all our students.

We will continue to monitor the directives and guidelines of the NDDoH, Central Valley Health, and the WDA, as well as provide more information as it becomes available.  We, like you, look forward to return to normal expectations as soon as possible.
