JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in North Dakota, the demand for testing grows with it.

Central Valley Health held a press conference on Tuesday to give the latest information regarding COVID-19 and the efforts several agencies were taking to help prevent the spread. Unit Administrator Robin Iszler reports currently, there have been 130 total coronavirus cases reported in Stutsman County since March.

Iszler says the state continues to see positive cases grow, but Stutsman County has seen a slight downward trend in positives over the last few weeks.

This week, Central Valley Health will begin testing for University of Jamestown students and staff as they begin move-in. She thanked community partners and North Dakota National Guard for their assistance in previous testing events. She says the National Guard should be available to help with the events through the rest of the year.

Following that, Iszler says they’ll look to move to weekly testing that will be open to the public.

Iszler says their website and Facebook page will have further details on future testing events. Those who have previously registered for other testing events will not be required to do so. You can visit centralvalleyhealth.org for more information.
