JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School District will be working with 153 requests for students to participate in the Jamestown Virtual Academy this fall.

During the Monday school board meeting, Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech stated that parents and guardians of those students have opted to not send their children to class for at least the first semester of the school year.

Dr. Lech reports that those students enrolled in the Virtual Academy would be provided a curriculum through the University of Arizona. It would allow students to learn outside the classroom and resemble what the district had done in the spring earlier this year.

Staff at the Jamestown School District will monitor student progress and help with learning process. Course are available at all levels of education.

Dr. Lech says they will begin contacting families to ensure that moving forward with the virtual academy is what they really want.
