JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – COVID-19 caused the Jamestown Mystics to miss out on a few of their large fundraisers this year including their annual Fish Fry.

But a new event could very quickly become their biggest event moving foward.

The first ever Fishing for a Cause was held on Saturday, August 15th and received a huge response from the public. Mystics member Craig Melhoff says the club was struggling to raise money for their different charities this year.

Melhoff says with the different members and their areas of expertise, the Fishing for a Cause event really shaped up quickly.

Member Jon Beyer says seeing the support from the community at the event was amazing.

Mystics member Ron Schauer says all the money from the event would go on to help their many different causes.

Final amounts raised were not yet immediately available.
