JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In an effort to continue providing tests to the general public and incoming University of Jamestown students and staff, Central Valley Health has moved to a weekly testing event through August 2020.

Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says the large-scale testing events that were previously held in July will no longer be happening.

Iszler adds that because they are shifting to a smaller, weekly event, their hope is to test only those who are close contact or symptomatic. She says they are also hoping to test more students, but have some available for the general public in the upcoming August 14th event.

Iszler says testing will be offered from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Reiland Fine Arts Center parking lot on the University of Jamestown campus. She says they will have 200 tests available for the event.

Director of Health Promotion Shannon Kaiser they encourage those who want to be tested to register ahead of time at testreg.nd.gov. She says this helps expedite the testing process and allows them to test more people faster.

Kaiser encourages those who are tested to be patient and wait to hear from the state regarding their test results.

Later this month, Iszler says they will have tests specifically for incoming students who may wish to be tested as the move in.

Adding to that, Iszler says they are continuing to work with the NDDoH after it was announced that the state would be one of a few nationwide to lead in a vaccine implementation study.
