JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Two individuals were arrested after a nearly 24 hour event for area law enforcement.
Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser reports that a deputy was attempting to stop a vehicle south of Jamestown on Highway 281 Sunday afternoon.
A pursuit ensued with the help of the Jamestown Police Department and North Dakota Highway Patrol. The chase ended at the Jamestown Country Club when the vehicle became stuck. From there, the two individuals fled on foot.
A perimeter was established with the Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, NDHP, and North Dakota Game & Fish. Kaiser says the searches included a drone, but they were unable to locate the individuals.
Kaiser says some calls from the public were received that helped lead them to the Bloom area where the two individuals were attempting to steal a car near the James River Humane Society.
Jake Baumann, 38, and Jennifer Wahl, 35, both of Fargo were taken into custody. Baumann faces initial charges of Eluding a Peace Officer, Poss w/ Intent to Deliver-Meth, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment.
Wahl faces charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver-Meth. Both are currently jailed at the Stutsman County Correctional Center.
