VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It was an old fashioned pitchers duel for the first four innings, Jacoby Nold for Jamestown and Aiden Moser for Devils Lake. But in the end, Moser blinked first and Jamestown scored three runs in the fifth on the way to a 4-1 win in a loser out game at the 2020 Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament at Charlie Brown Field in Valley City.

Connor Hoyt’s rbi groundout broke the 0-0 tie then Tommy Falk’s two run double capped off the inning. The Eagles would get an insurance run in the sixth on an error but really didn’t need it. Jacoby Nold was spot on.

The right hander allowed just one unearned run and two hits over seven innings. He did not walk a batter and struck out nine.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 25-6 and will face Fargo in the second loser out game on Thursday.

Fargo lost an 8-5 decision to West Fargo in a winners bracket game. The Bismarck Reps downed Minot 6-4 sending the Metros home.
