CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There has been a slight surge in COVID-19 cases found in Carrington, more specifically at Golden Acres Manor and Estates.

Health officials report that serial COVID-19 testing has been conducted on all residents, tenants, and staff and found a few positive cases.

Lisa Hilbert, Foster County Public Health Nurse, says Golden Acres is currently implementing additional safety measures for both of their buildings and identifying close contacts with any positive individual.

Danielle Koepplin, Foster County Public Information Officer, says they have been pushing for a testing event in Foster County.

Hilbert says the mass COVID-19 testing event at the Foster County Fairgrounds will go from 2 PM to 6 PM.

Those planning on participating are encouraged to pre-register at testreg.nd.gov before the event. Registration does not guarantee a test. 300 tests will be made available on a first come, first serve basis.

Hilbert adds that the tests will be administered orally.

Positive results from the test will be notified withing 24 to 72 hours. Negative results will take 3-5 days or longer depending on state lab processing.

Koepplin added again that pre-registration is highly encouraged.
