McMillen, age 94, of Valley City, ND, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 8th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City with Reverend Dan Forsberg officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday morning.  Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City.

Clara Caroline Hanson, the daughter of Nils and Hilda (Huseth) Hanson, was born November 23, 1917 in McLeod, ND.  Clara grew up in the Lucca, ND area and graduated from Lucca High School.  After receiving her education, Clara lived and worked in Enderlin, ND until she married Milton McMillen on June 14, 1940.  Following several short moves, the couple remained in Casselton, ND until 1967 when they moved to Valley City, ND.  During these years Clara was employed by The Federated Store, House of Fabric and Material Things.  The past eight years, Clara has been a resident of the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.

Clara is survived by her daughter Patricia (John) Beil, Valley City, ND; two sons, James McMillen, East Grand Forks, MN and John (Joan) McMillen, Pelican Rapids, MN; seven grandchildren, Jean (Todd) Geselius, Willmar, MN, Joan (Jim) O’Brien, Lakeville, MN, Jason (Kathy) McMillen, Rockford, MN, Jana McMillen, Tucson, AZ, Jared (Trish) McMillen, Las Vegas, NV Teresa Stanislowski, East Grand Forks, MN and Stephanie (Jake) Stanislowski, Elk River, MN; 12 Great-grandchildren; one niece, Karen (Svedjan) Settembre, Syracuse, NY; two nephews, Denis Svedjan, Grand Forks, ND and Bill (Maureen) Anderson, St. Louis Park, MN.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters, brother, and twin great grandsons.
