JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Central Valley Health and several partners will set up a drive-up COVID-19 testing event at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds today.

Mass testing events have been held in many different parts of North Dakota for the past month. This will be the second planned event in Stutsman County.

Central Valley Health Unit Administrator Robin Iszler says the event will be a first come, first serve basis.

While the drive-up testing event is completely free and no healthcare information is required, Iszler says they are encouraging pre-registration to help speed up the process.

The testing process is expected to take around 15 minutes, but wait times in line may be longer.

Director of Health Promotions Shannon Kaiser has been working with notification of those who test positive or negative for COVID-19. She says those who test will be notified a few days following the event.

Kaiser says as always, those who receive the test should continue to practice safe habits.

Families are also encouraged to participate and can all be tested in a single vehicle. The North Dakota Department of Health, the North Dakota National Guard, and local health and safety partners will all be on site to assist in the testing event.

Testing will be conducted using oral swabs. Antibody testing will not be conducted at this event.
