JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Earlier this summer, Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist reported that the tornado siren at the Marina had failed.
The siren was one of the oldest sirens on the system for Stutsman County. On Tuesday, Bergquist informed the commission the new siren had been ordered through Jamestown Communications.
Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser and Park Board Superintendent Karl Bergh decided where the new siren would be located.
Bergh said they wouldn’t be using the old tower from the previous siren.
Bergquist added it’ll be a multidirectional siren, allowing for better coverage. They estimate it to be installed sometime this summer.
The cost is being covered through 911 funding and potential grants.
