CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Foster County Public Health reports that a free COVID-19 mass testing event is set for July 28th at the Foster County Fairgrounds.

Testing will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM. Pre-registration is highly encouraged at testreg.nd.gov.

If you do not have computer or smart phone and need assistance with pre-registration. you can call Jen Whitman at 701-650-6167, Colleen Sweet at 701-368-8774, or Ann VandeHoven at 701-652-3257. More than 300 tests will be available on a first come, first serve basis and is open to all ages.

Other information includes:

-The event is free and health insurance is not processed.
-Proof of residency is not required.
-The testing process takes approximately 15 minutes. Wait time may be longer.
-PCR (swab) testing will be offered at this event. At this time it is undetermined whether it is oral or nasal.
-Antibody testing will not be conducted at this event.
-Face coverings are encouraged and appreciated.
-Positive result will be notified by phone within 24-72 hours
-Negative result will be notified by phone within 3-5 days, may take longer depending on state lab processing.

To ease traffic flow, we ask the public to avoid the area if possible.

Although businesses and residences in the area will remain accessible during the event, we ask that traffic in the area be minimal and cautious of parked cars in the area.
