VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Barnes County Road 19 (Known as the River Road) is closed at the junction of 115th Ave SE, due to a washed out culvert.
Highway Roads Superintendent Kerry Johnson said they have been watching this culvert for awhile and placed closure signs up Tuesday morning. He said one motorist in a pickup damaged their vehicle before county crews had a chance to get road barricades in place.
Johnson said it will be awhile before the road is repaired and open to motorists. Motorists should seek alternate routes. Motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling during and after heavy rainfall events. Road conditions can rapidly change at any time.
