Minnesota Corn Growers Association
Minnesota Corn Growers Association (MCGA) board member Brian Thalmann was elected to the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) Corn Board during July Corn Congress, which was held virtually.
Thalmann, who farms in Plato, was one of seven candidates who ran for a spot on the Corn Board. In his message to delegates, Thalmann described his motivation to join the Corn Board:
“I have had the opportunity to work alongside my father on the farm, and I look forward to many years working with my son before I hand him the reins. Agriculture has been very good to us, and as a member of the Corn Board, I look forward to working tirelessly to ensure it continues to be,” Thalmann said.
Thalmann served as 2018-2019 MCGA President and is a three-term member of the board. He joins MCGA directors Tom Haag (Eden Valley) and Harold Wolle (Madelia) on the Corn Board. Thalmann will begin serving his two-year term on Oct. 1.
