VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Greg Hager of Valley City will be sharing his music at the City Park Bandshell on Wednesday, July 15th starting at 7:15 pm.
Song-writer and accomplished musician, Greg Hager offers original songs with a fresh authentic Western flair, from heartwarming to toe-tapping. Ballad-creator and tall-tale originator, Greg presents a musical program that will tickle the ears and inspire the heart. His music and message has a true “western styled” country and gospel focus, and is a delight for all members of the family. He recently released a new album State Of Mind, which is now available.
Creating original songs, blending folk and western with heartwarming sincerity, Greg offers a unique approach to the time-honored tradition of the traveling minstrel. In times past, traveling minstrels incorporated mischief, musings, mishaps, and merriment into their musical offerings. Their travels often gave opportunities to meet people and bridge the gap between small and large communities, impressive venues and pastoral settings. Greg has continued the tradition of being a goodwill ambassador in song, bringing smiles, a touch of nostalgia mixed with love of family, and an imaginative, musical view of the world.
Music inspired from daily life, bringing out the joys and soul-searching in songs that touch the heart and stir the imagination. Original, insightful and encouraging, his music captures the hopes, inspires the dreams and delights the spirit.
His rural western roots run deep, and he writes and sings about the life he knows and lives. Valuable lessons about honesty, integrity, and keeping your word—no matter what—were instilled at an early age, and form the backdrop of his musical perspective. Those values are timeless and resonate with everyone.
Musically, Hager writes everything that he sings – his style is described as “Easy-going, melodic, and clever” relating to more traditional Country and Western music prior to the pop-culture influences.
He is married with three children and lives in southeast North Dakota, near the family homestead. Greg loves to share his musical talents at special events. The complete interview with Greg Hager is available right here.
Music at the City Park Bandshell is sponsored by the Valley City Parks & Recreation, KOVC, the Bridges Arts Council, Myron Sommerfeld family and NewsDakota.com. A free will offering is taken to assist in continued work on the bandshell. Bring your lawn chair or blanket.
