L to R: i3G Media’s Kali Widmer with Izabelle and handler Jennifer Weber

CARRINGTON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Some Carrington snake owners will be sharing their love of the reptile during an event at the City Park on July 25th.

Russell Keys and Jennifer Weber are both avid snake owners and decided to hold the event to share their pets with the public.

Weber reached out to Keys, who was known for having shown his snakes during the Foster County Fair.

Keys says as a child, he had always been fascinated by the reptile.

From there, Keys continued to find a way to be around snakes.

Weber has been keeping snakes for 7 years and has a few different species of snake.

Weber says she finds snakes from different breeders.

Keys added that the hobby of keeping snakes as pets has really taken off, estimating more than 4 million reptilian pets across the U.S.

The event will be an interactive, hands-on reptile adventure at the Carrington City Park. There will be snakes, geckos, tarantulas, and more.

Keys says the event is for people who want to see snakes, ask questions, and more.

They’ll be located at the Carrington City Park in Shelter #1 by the pool from 10 AM to 1 PM and again from 6 PM to 9 PM. The event will be free and open to the public.
