VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The State of North Dakota announced its Economic Resiliency Grant (ERG), a new program for businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. The intent of ERG is to provide financial resources that help get customers back into the market place. The program provides grant funds that support direct investments made to reduce the spread of COVID and instill customer confidence in the marketplace of up to $50,000 for a single business and up to $100,000 for two business locations. Examples of eligible expenses may range from PPE and barriers to structural changes necessary to improve customer flow. Businesses who have direct interaction with customers are eligible to apply. ERG is the State’s response to business concerns of finding a way to increase the comfort level of customers to reenter businesses.

Director of Development for the Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation Jennifer Feist said the ERG application is expected to be available by July 31, 2020. She said please use the next two weeks to get ready if you plan to apply. Qualifying expenses are those incurred between March 27, 2020 and 45 days after grant award (no later than December 29, 2020) provided they meet additional program guidelines. Documentation such as invoices and cost estimates are needed for the application.
