CITY  (NewsDakota.com)–Valley City State Athletic director Jack Denholm has announced the hiring of Rick Ross and Jamie Paurus as co-head golf coaches at VCSU.

Ross has been at VCSU as an instructor in the Career and Technical Educational program.  Paurus has been a faculty member in the Management and Finance areas.

Both have been contributing time to the golf program in an ad-hoc role over the past two years.

“I am looking forward to building the program to make us more competitive in the region,” said Ross.  Paurus said, “This is an exciting opportunity for me, as I’m very passionate about the sport of golf.

The Vikings have been coached by Ryan Bomstad and Nathan Stover.  Bomstad has taken a teaching and coaching job in Barnesville, MN, while Stover remains with the Vikings basketball staff as an assistant coach.
