JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – SkyWest Airlines will continue to provide service to Jamestown & Devils Lake through 2023.
The announcement comes from North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer.
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) selected SkyWest Airlines, Inc. to provide Essential Air Service (EAS) at Devils Lake and Jamestown for the next three years from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023.
“SkyWest is required to provide the communities of Devils Lake and Jamestown with air service of 12 round trips per week to Denver International Airport using a 50-seat aircraft,” Senator Cramer’s office states.
“We appreciate the Administration extending SkyWest’s contract to provide air service to Jamestown and Devils Lake through 2023,” said Senator John Hoeven. “Reliable air service is important for these communities as it supports business, tourism and other economic growth.”
Stutsman County Commissioner Ramone Gumke said in a letter of support for the project that “SkyWest has been a wonderful partner and their service is being used heavily. Boardings seem to continuously go up and in today’s mobile society this service is vital to sustaining and growing our communities.”
SkyWest first began providing jet service to Jamestown and Devils Lake in 2014. The service provides 12 roundtrip flights weekly from the airports to Denver, Colorado.
