JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Downtown Association’s (JDA) Kiddie Bike Parade has become an Independence Day tradition in Jamestown.
Jamestown Downtown Association President Lynn Lambrecht says all kids 12 and under are invited to join the parade south along 1st Avenue on July 4th.
Lambrecht says parents are welcome to join the parade and walk alongside their child in the parade. She added no motorized bikes or scooters are allowed and says they are asking everyone wear a helmet.
She added that any and all 4th of July decorations are encouraged for a chance to win prizes.
Lambrecht says the public is more than welcome to line main street and practice social distancing to enjoy the parade and cheer on the kids.
Typically, there is a gathering at McElroy Park following the parade, but Lambrecht says this year they’ll just serve “drive-thru” root beer floats at the end.
The lineup will begin at 9:30 AM in the parking lot across from Babbs Coffee House. The parade will start at 10 AM following prizes and drawings for a girls and boys bike.
