JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Work will begin on sandbag removal at the different levee locations this summer.
Bids were let to remove about 47,000 sandbags that were placed along the James River last fall in areas of flooding concern. City Engineer Travis Dillman reports that they received two bids.
Dillman says they’re looking to move quick to finish before a July 10th date. He added removal is important before that date so landowners can apply for FEMA funds.
He added that this will also cover any damage that may happen when crews get to the sandbags.
The bid was awarded to Scherbenske Inc. in the amount of $53,900.
