MEDORA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dorvan Solberg of Williston has been working with cutting horses for over fifty years and now he’s a member of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame as a Cowboy Long Rider.

He talked about one change he’s noticed in cutting horses over the last fifty years.

Solberg and six other individuals were inducted into the Class of 2020 North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame in Medora.

And a soon to be six generation ranch near McKenzie, North Dakota was also inducted into the Ranch category of the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Jerry Doan of the Black Leg Ranch talked about how his great-grandfather got the ranch started in 1880.

Other 2020 Class members are listed below:

Bronco “44 Magnum” of Bottineau was inducted into Rodeo Livestock category.

Rodeo Arena: James Cook of Sentinel Butte.

Rockie Kukla of Rugby and Harvey Billadeau of Parshall were inducted into the Modern Era Rodeo.

Carroll Johnston of Watford City was inducted into the Pre-1970’s Rodeo.

Modern Era Ranching: Phillip Baker of Mandaree.

Pre-1940’s Ranching: Martin Hovde of Williston.

Leaders of Ranch & Rodeo: Robert Luger of Fort Yates.

And the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association of Bismarck was inducted into the Special Achievement category.
