JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Canvass Board convened Monday, June 15th to certify the election results from the June 9th Primary Election.
A total of 4,879 ballots were mailed-in with 3,297 Republican, 1,160 Democratic-NPL, 15 Libertarian, 407 Nonpartisan, 343 Crossover, and 3 blank.
The following are the official results following the canvassing of the ballots.
The District 12 State Senator race is set with John Grabinger receiving 789 for the Democratic-NPL nomination and Cole Conley with the Republican nomination with 1,386 votes.
In the State Representative race for District 12, Bernie Satrom and Mitch Ostlie received a majority of the votes with 1,276 and 1,071 respectively in the republican race. Grant Christensen rounded out the top three with 1,017.
In the Democratic-NPL race for District 12 State Representative, Pam Musland received 731 votes and George Barnes received 694.
In the Stutsman County Commissioner race, Joan Morris received the most votes with 2,765. Mark Klose received 2,731 and Jill Gainer had 2,337. Morris and Klose will be taking the two seats.
In the Jamestown City Council election, Brian Kamlitz was the top vote recipient with 2,407 votes, followed by David Schloegel with 1,997, Dan Buchanan with 1,987, and Pam Phillips with 1,764. Kamlitz, Schloegel, and Buchanan will take seats on the council for the next four years.
There were two Park Board seats open, which will be filled by Mark A Ukestad with 2,525 votes and Ron Olson with 2,254 votes.
The rural Jamestown School Board seat will be filled by Aaron Roberts with 1,943 votes. Steve Veldkamp was runner-up with 1,320 votes.
In the other School Board race, Gayle Nelson received the most votes with 2,507, Diane Hanson had 2,487, Roger Haut received 2,439, and Jamie Bear had 2,364. Nelson, Hanson, and Haut will all fill a seat on the school board.
